Eiffel Tower Steps

Do you know how many Eiffel Tower steps you have to overcome in order to get to the Eiffel Tower top on foot? According to the official figures there are exactly 1,665 of them from the ground floor to the third level. But guess what, access to the Eiffel Tower by the staircase is only allowed up to the second floor.

Last time I went to visit the Eiffel Tower with my family, I took the time to take some pictures of the Eiffel Tower steps. Here goes the first one. This is the staircase right after you get through the entrance door.

And then, there’s the first one of the Eiffel Tower steps:

I have never counted the Eiffel Tower steps myself of course – no, thanks. But I did use them all several times to get to the first and second floors of the Eiffel Tower.

And to tell you the truth, I prefer to go by the stairs. There’s some pretty good spots where you can take pictures from, and of course you go by your own speed. You may think it’s hard and time-consuming, but then you are on the second floor in no time.

The staircase is accessible from the south pillar. Tickets are available at the ticket office just beside the entrance, if you haven’t already bought them online, of course (check Eiffel Tower tickets). And then, all that’s left is enjoy the show.

Going up walking the Eiffel Tower steps was a fantastic experience for me. It takes no more than half an hour to get to the first floor. On the way up, if you are not busy counting the steps, or enjoying the scenery, I recommend you observe the structure of the Eiffel Tower with all those iron parts firmly connected with rivets. It’s really amazing.

And if you are not interested in rivets at all (it might be the case), enjoy the views, just like we did.

And there we go – last step leading to the first floor of the Eiffel Tower. Taking a closer look at the picture will reveal the number of Eiffel Tower steps up to the first floor. They are exactly 328.

And that one (see below) is the last step of the staircase just before you reach the second floor. I think there is still much confusion about the exact number of Eiffel Tower steps. Not for you anymore, I guess ….

There you go – exactly 669, right?
